Mastering Your Machine Series

Mastering Your BERNINA class program is designed to give you the most enjoyment from your new BERNINA machine, serger, software, or embroidery machine. If you purchased your BERNINA from BERNINA Main Street, these classes are FREE! Each student will receive a workbook that will take you through the program and create a handy resource tool for later reference. If you did not purchase your machine from BERNINA Main Street you may purchase one of our New Owner packages. See pricing schedule below for your machine model.
Supplies for class: Your machine and all of it ’ s accessories unless otherwise noted, machine manuals, 3 ” -4 ” 3 ring binder, plastic page protectors, highlighter, fabric glue stick, and basic sewing supplies ( scissors, needles, seam ripper, etc. ) Some classes require that you bring supplies such as zippers, double needles, etc. You may ask for a supply list when you sign up for class.

BERNINA Sewing Machine Trainings ( SMT )
SMT #1: General Information ( One 3 hour class)
All BERNINA & Bernette Sewing Machine models

This is your introduction class! Topics covered: meet your feet; sewing machine needles; thread; stabilizers and interfacings; care and feeding of your machine; basic sewing samples ( s traight and zig zag, corners, basting, seam finish, satin stitch, edge stitching, and needle positions )

SMT #2: Practical Stitching ( One 3 hour class )
All BERNINA & Bernette Sewing Machine models

Topics covered: seams; hems and edgings; when and how to use these stitches and what stitch is best for what fabric.

SMT #3: More Practical Stitching ( O ne 3 hour class )
All BERNINA & Bernette Sewing Machine models

Topics covered: elastics applications; buttonhole and eyelets; zippers; darning

SMT #4: Decorative Techniques ( O ne 3 hour class )
All BERNINA Machine Models

Topics covered: gathering samples; double, triple, and wing needle samples

SMT #5: More Decorative Techniques ( One 3 hour class )
All BERNINA Machine Models except activa 210

Topics covered: decorative stitch techniques; patchwork quilting; machine appliqué

SMT#6: Stitch Manipulations ( One 3 hour class )
All BERNINA Machine Models except 1008 and activa 210

Topics covered: Machine memory and combi mode; machine functions; setup program; tutorial

SMT #7: Directional Stitching ( One 3 hour class)
BERNINA artista 200, 730, and BERNINA 830 ONLY

Topics covered: Multi directional stitching; monograms; quilt designs; scallops
