Sewing Tip:
When you are using your machine or machine with embroidery module,
keep all loose ends of thread away from the machine. We have
recently done two repairs that could have been avoided by this good
housekeeping tip. An embroidery module was brought in that was
completely locked up. The cause: the sewer had left their large
spool of bobbin thread behind their embroidery module. Due to static
electricity, the loose end of the spool of thread made friends with
the module and was sucked in and in and in and in!. The other
repair happened when the sewer was using their multiple spool holder
on the back of their artista 200. Once again a loose end of thread
got cozy with the machine and got sucked in and in and in and in.
See both pictures below. All loose ends of thread should be clipped
in the spool or taped to the spool or something to keep them to keep
them from getting too cozy and friendly with your machine. These
repairs are not costly, but they are time comsuming!!! Sometime
when you see Bonnie that works and teaches here ask her what happens
when this happens to your machine the second time!
Happy Stitching
Bernina Main Street
and staff would like to stress the importance of yearly service. Your
machines are a big investment and should be treated with tender loving
care. Many of the repair problems we see could be prevented with a
regular yearly checkup.
An appointment is required
for all repairs and general service. Call to set the appointment and
bring your machine in the day of the appointment. Our turn around time
is 10 working days. If parts are needed that may extend the time while
we wait for parts.
If you would like to have you machine repaired
or serviced quicker than the first available appointment an additional fee
is applied. Reminder: If parts need to be ordered there may be a delay in
the service.
Service fees are a flat fee
while repairs are the cost of the parts plus labor charges. Please call the
store for these prices.
As always, machines purchased from
Bernina Main Street
(Dayton) or Sew and Sews (Richmond) receive priority.

Machines can NOT be
accepted without these items. It is important for us to use the
equipment in the same manner as you,
in order for us
to duplicate the symptoms you describe.
Bring the sewing machine in with the
case it came with. This will protect it while in the store and
allows us to keep everything together. We are not responsible for
cosmetic damage to a machine brought in without a case.
